How to wear a bolo tie

Put the cord around your neck under the collar, with the slide at the front. Then move the slide up or down to where you want it. Pushed up to a buttoned collar, it takes the place of a necktie and looks dressed up. Worn lower with the top button open, it's relaxed enough for jeans. The sliding clasp holds wherever you leave it, so there is nothing to tie.

What size bolo tie do I need?

Our bolo ties are one size. Each one has a leather cord of about 24 inches with metal tips, and the slide sets how high it sits, so it fits most necks and collars.

Choosing a slide

  • Longhorn Skull: swept horns in silver-tone metal, the most western of the eight.
  • Horse Head: a horse head in relief on a round medallion, in silver or gold finish.
  • Eagle: a cast eagle, perched with wings folded or caught mid-flight.
  • Cowboy Hat: a small silver-tone hat, easy to wear every day.
  • Guitar: an enameled guitar headstock with tuning pegs, in blue, dark brown or red, on a braided cord.
  • Black Stone: a black stone in a sunburst, oval or shield setting.
  • Concho: a scalloped concho, plain silver-tone or with a dark stone at the center.
  • Openwork Ball: a pierced silver-tone ball, the plainest slide we carry.
