Which leather belt strap do you need?

• Western straps ($45 to $55): one piece of 100% full-grain cowhide, 38mm (1.5 in), with snaps. Plain in five colors, floral tooled in three, or embossed with a Celtic knot in brown or black. More on our Western Straps page.
• Italian leather dress straps ($85 to $95): croc-textured, ostrich-textured and lizard-textured Italian leather in 30 or 35mm, plus a pebbled dark brown in 35mm. Each is cut from one 44-inch blank.
• Genuine exotic straps ($250 to $400): stingray, python, lizard, ostrich and alligator in 35mm (lizard also in 30mm), and crocodile, crocodile belly and hornback crocodile in 38mm.

The croc, ostrich and lizard dress straps are textured Italian cowhide, not exotic skin. The genuine skins are the ones named "Genuine" on their page.

Will my buckle fit the strap?

A buckle is made for one width and fits only that width, so match the two: a 35mm buckle needs a 35mm strap. To check a buckle you already own, measure the inside of the frame where the strap goes through. On the Build Your Belt page, once you pick a strap, we only show you buckles that fit it. How do snap-on western straps work?

The snaps at the buckle end open and close, so a buckle comes off and another goes on in seconds. One western strap can carry two or three of our western buckles over time, all made for this 38mm width. Have a trophy buckle already? Buy the western strap on its own and we'll call to confirm your size before we cut it.

How we cut a strap to size

Tell us your belt size, which is your waist plus two (a 34 waist takes a 36 belt), and we cut the strap so the buckle lands on the middle hole. Each strap comes in the sizes listed on its page, and we can't cut one longer than that. Not sure of the number? See how to find your size. Builder belts are cut within one business day and shipped within two. Because a strap is cut to one person's measurement, it's final sale.

Shipping and California

Standard shipping is $8, free on orders of $100 or more, so every exotic strap ships free. Local pickup at our Wellington store is always free. California law doesn't allow python, snakeskin or lizard products to be sold there, so we can't ship the Python Strap or the Lizard Skin Strap to California. The lizard-textured Italian leather strap ships there as normal.
